Liquor of Choice: Makers

 

Ingredients

2 1/2 ounces Maker’s Mark bourbon
1/2 ounce French sweet vermouth, preferably Dolin Rouge
2 dashes Fee Brothers cherry bitters
4 to 5 drops maraschino cherry juice
Ice
1 Maraschino cherry, for garnish

Directions

In a mixing glass, combine the bourbon, sweet vermouth, bitters and maraschino cherry juice. Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir well. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with the maraschino cherry.

Liquor of Choice: Altos Tequila

 

Ingredients

kosher salt
1/4 cup fresh grapefruit juice
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
1 teaspoon sugar
1/4 cup mezcal or tequila
1/4 cup club soda

Preparation

Pour kosher salt on a plate. Rub half of rim of a highball glass with a lime wedge; dip rim of glass in salt. Combine 1/4 cup fresh grapefruit juice, 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice, and 1 teaspoon sugar in glass; stir until sugar is dissolved. Stir in 1/4 cup mezcal or tequila, add ice, and top off with 1/4 cup club soda. Garnish with lime wedge.

Liquor of Choice: Four Roses Single Barrel

 

Ingredients

10 mint leaves, plus a sprig for garnish
1 1/2 teaspoons superfine sugar
Seltzer water
Crushed ice
2 1/2 ounces bourbon

Preparation

Place the mint leaves in bottom of old-fashioned glass and top with the sugar. Muddle until the leaves begin to break down. Add a splash of seltzer water, fill glass 3/4 full with crushed ice, and add the bourbon. Top with another splash of seltzer, stir, and garnish with a sprig of mint.

Liquor of Choice: Sauza

 

Ingredients

2 ounces blanco tequila
Juice of 1 whole lime
½ ounce triple sec, preferably Cointreau
Salt for rim
Orange wedge, for garnish

Preparation

Salt highball or footed glass rim. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add tequila, lime juice and triple sec. Shake. Pour, with the ice, into a highball or footed glass. Garnish with wedge of orange (Travis thinks limes are lame).
